During ICA 2026, we will present key insights from Translocal Lives in a co-organized panel examining how communication scholars can respond to global crises through solidarity, critical engagement, and decolonial approaches.

In this upcoming webinar we will explore how digital technologies are reinforcing and amplifying exclusionary practices at borders, drawing on critical insights from both Global North and South perspectives.

We hosted the workshop 'Making Migration Methodologies' on filmmaking and participatory video sharing insights from our work in Translocal Lives.

We will be presenting the paper "Aspirational place-making and digital practices of refugees in the Netherlands", touching on how refugees’ digital practices in the Netherlands enable aspirational place-making, belonging, and future-oriented life planning.

We will present our paper on Aspirational Place-making recently published in the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.

We participated as guest speaker in this event organized by Dr. Ana Uribe Sandoval in collaboration with Studium Generale and ESN-Rotterdam.

In this presentation, we will discuss how migrants engage with digital technologies as they rebuild their lives in host countries, and highlight the reasons they may face digital obstacles.

We took part in the RUNOMI multidisciplinary course to share insights into key challenges surrounding migrant inclusion in a digitalised society.

We presented our methodological paper on lessons learned from the Digital Place-makers program, implemented with 15 participants in 2021.
