Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21. This bible verse stands at the core of the mission of the Pauluskerk Rotterdam.
The diaconal mission of the Pauluskerk is the biblically anchored call to care for the marginalized. This involves individual support, reflection, proclamation of faith, and action. All of this is strengthening.
The Pauluskerk operates from the conviction that the Bible calls us to care for and offer support to those who cannot manage without help, regardless of background, beliefs, position, or status. We do this by being hospitable and offering practical individual support. This is done through reflection and the proclamation of faith, as well as through action, such as advocacy and advocacy. Our goal is to give people practical tools and thus offer a new perspective. We strengthen their vitality, so they can reconnect with society.
The Pauluskerk sees "faith" and "helping" as two inextricably linked and mutually reinforcing elements. We are inspired by the core values of the Bible: mercy and justice, peace and the integrity of creation. In doing so, we radically side with the people who come to us. They are unconditionally welcome. Accessibility and hospitality are therefore paramount to us. We offer help not only in the form of basic necessities, but also in a broader sense, aimed at strengthening people's vitality.
