Refugee inclusion, storytelling, and dialogue
Dr. Wegahta B. Sereke is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Communication, Culture, and Society at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). She researches discursive constructions of cultural, racial, and ethnic differences and identities to advance a critical intercultural communication framework. She primarily focuses on discourses about immigration and immigrant integration, discursive construction of identity, agency, power, and affective practices. She is currently working as a project manager and researcher on the Agora project, "Fostering Inclusion of Refugees: Storytelling and Dialogue," at Università della Svizzera italiana, which was funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). The goal of this Agora project is to promote dialogue with refugees, Swiss citizens, integration offices, and social workers about integration challenges based on their SNSF-funded project.
